Uncle Dan’s Magical Powers

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Hi! Hope you all had a great weekend! I know I did, I went to visit cousin Gus at his New York City apt and Uncle Dan put me under his magical powers. Mom was upset that he had a vice-like grip around my head.

But as a little time passed, I got sleepier and sleepier and before I knew it I was asleep! I’m not sure what happened, but I think that I as hypnotized. Has this ever happened to any of you? I think this is a new way of Uncle Dan making me calm down, what do you think?

Water Cooler Gossip

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Met Emma at the water bowl this morning to catch up on what’s new in her life. She has been out for a long time packing and getting ready to move into her new digs this weekend. She has been neck deep in paint and is getting ready for the movers to come and get her stuff. I wanted to drink out of the same bowl with her, but she wasn’t feeling it. Alas I drank alone. Must be cause she is exhausted from the packing. Trust me I know, I was there just a couple of months ago. I know it’ s hard work, but trust me, once you are in, it is totally worth it! Good luck Emma and post some photos of your new place!

Shopping is for the Ladies!

Monday, October 6th, 2008

I got a new shirt! I got it in NJ near Grammy’s house, but what I don’t get is that I shopped so much only to get 1 shirt, can you believe it? Mom, Dad and I went everywhere this weekend, but I especially liked shopping in Soho. If you don’t know, Soho stands for South of Houston, all the cool people go shopping there!

My favorite store was a store called Uniqlo! Mom likes it cause they hem your jeans for free. Dad likes it for affordable, good quality basics. I like it cause there is a cool Japanese Robot that talks back to you and rolls around on wheels. He’s big and yellow! I tried to chase him around, but he didn’t really bend down and seemed a little confused. I guess it’s cause he’s so far from home.IF you go, please give him a hug and tell him that his Mommy will come and get him soon.

Mom carried me around when I got tired of walking and then we headed home on the PATH. What a weekend!

I started out enthusiastic and strong. I wanted to love shopping as much as Mommy does!

Unfortunately I couldn’t keep up and started to slip…

I was so happy to be home in bed! I really am smiling here, I was just too tired to lift my head to show you.
As much as I had fun, I am going to leave the shopping to the girls, I’d rather stay home with Daddy watching TV and munching on treats!

Hamptons

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Hope you all had a good weekend! Last week mom, dad and I went to the Hamptons to visit cousin Emma and Avery. It was such a long car ride even without traffic, mom says it takes twice, sometimes three times longer during the summer, I made myself comfy in the car, while we drove…and drove…

When I got bored, I stuck my head out the window and took in some fresh air! Nothing like the wind whipping through my hair!

Our first stop was to buys some apples and pumpkins at the Milk Pail.

The apples were good, BUT the pumpkins were gigantic! Bigger than me!

Then we met up with cousin Avery and Emma and went to the duck pond to feed the ducks. I really love them and wished that they lived closer, they love to walk me, chase me and my favorite - feed me!

Whew! I really did a lot that day! I will miss the Hamptons, but most of all, I miss my cousins.

Weekend at Grammy’s

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Tater here! Can you believe that it’s already Wednesday?! Almost my birthday - next Monday for those that don’t know. I finally got some pictures from my weekend at Grammy’s. On the last weekend of the summer we had a ROYAL RUMBLE! The battle between me and Gus was fierce! Mickey was on his leash so he was rooting for the top dog and playing the referee:

Here’s how the play by play went:

I pinned Gus to the grass:

We rolled around:

Tater and Gus rolling

We ran out of breath:

tongues wagging

We ran inside to drink water.

Gus and Tater running home

Gus definitely put up a hard fight and I tried with all my might to take down the pint-size giant! In the end it was a draw.  But I think he should have let me win. Until next year Gus…

Moving to Hoboken

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Two posts in one day! I have a lot to catch everyone up on…

Mom and Dad finally tied the knot and we also have finally moved into the new apt, which leaves me with plenty of time to catch everyone up on what’s new in my life!

After the wedding mom, dad and I spent some family time together…well sort of…running errands all over town. Boy am I pooped! But I love Hoboken and I miss Auntie Jess, Uncle Dan, Cousin Mickey and Cousin Gus a lot. But I am glad that I get to see them at the office everyday! Lucky ME!

This is me resting after a long day of helping mom and dad organize the apt. Helping the grown ups is sure tiring…

Aunt Chrissy’s 30th

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Happy 30th Birthday Auntie Chrissy! Because it was a special weekend A) Labor Day Weekend and B) Auntie Chrissy’s B-day; mom and dad took me out for a special treat. We went to brunch at the Barking Dog Cafe, where I got to eat bacon and hang out with a bunch of dogs from the neighborhood before we made the big move to Hoboken. Mom even almost let me try her iced coffee. It was hot outside and it looked so refreshing!

Tater and iced coffee

Then off to the Jersey Shore we went… I ran on the boardwalk off my leash for the first time AND I got to run on the sand and also made a couple new friends. They are WAY more experienced since they go to the beach all summer long, but for my first time it was the best. I got to eat some burgers and hot dogs right off the grill and some yummy summer Jersey corn. I even met a mini poodle that walked beside me all the way from one side of the boardwalk to the other. I was sad to see the summer and the shore go. I hope to be back soon, please Auntie Chrissy have another b-day party real soon!

South Mountain Reservation

HI! Tater here! I went to grandma’s house over the weekend to play with cousin Mickey and cousin Gus and grandma had a surprise field trip for us! She took us in her car (I love riding the car and sticking my head out the window- makes me feel like I am running a million miles an hour!) for a ride to the South Mountain Reserve. This place is AWESOME. It has a HUGE dog park one for little dogs like me and BIG dogs like Emma. They have drinking fountains, park benches, these things for me to run on, around, through and under, and DogiPot stations, just in case you have to “go” while you are playing. I made a couple new friends and then grandma and mom took us for a walk around the loop. She said that it was only fair, so that way all of us can get some exercise. I saw this big dog standing outside the park and it didn’t move and was shiny, I asked mom what it was and she told me it was a memorial honoring emergency service dogs that lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 tragedies (see photo above). I thought that that was really nice and noble. I really love it there and hope that I can go again and again and AGAIN! If you are in neighborhood, make sure to stop by. http://www.essex-countynj.org/p/index.php?section=dog
