Mickey is off to San Francisco!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Cousin Mickey is on a plane far away to San Francisco with Auntie Jess. I was worried about him since my mom said that when she was in LA that they had changed the animal restrictions on the air plane and wasn’t sure that Mickey was small enough to put under the seat. I hope that he will fit, because the cargo part of the plane sounds scary. Anyhow, here’s cousin Mickey being incognito. If you know anything about the new plane regulations please let us know what they are. I will miss you Mickey, bring me back some San Francisco Treats (not Rice-aroni please!)…and GOOD LUCK! xoxo Tater

city paws

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Hi, Mickey here. It ain’t easy keeping clean in the city. After every walk, my white paws are city-gritty dirty. Alas, Herban Essentials doggy towelettes to the rescue- keeping my paws nice and clean for indoor roaming, jumping, digging, and zooming. The towelettes have a gentle lavender scent that is oh-so-nice.

How do I look when getting my paws cleaned?…Woah- let me tell you- the world sure is an interesting place from this upside down angle.  WOOF!

Weekend at Grammy’s

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Tater here! Can you believe that it’s already Wednesday?! Almost my birthday - next Monday for those that don’t know. I finally got some pictures from my weekend at Grammy’s. On the last weekend of the summer we had a ROYAL RUMBLE! The battle between me and Gus was fierce! Mickey was on his leash so he was rooting for the top dog and playing the referee:

Mickey

Here’s how the play by play went:

I pinned Gus to the grass:

Tater fighting Gus

We rolled around:

Tater and Gus rolling

We ran out of breath:

tongues wagging

We ran inside to drink water.

Gus and Tater running home

Gus definitely put up a hard fight and I tried with all my might to take down the pint-size giant! In the end it was a draw.  But I think he should have let me win. Until next year Gus…

Taking a leave of absence

Hi- it’s me Mickey. I will be taking a leave of absence through September 17th. Where will you be, you may ask…I’ll be attending a Feisty Fido’s training camp at St.Huberts in Madison, NJ. Why? Well, I am trying to better myself and get over my fear of big dogs. I’ll be reporting on my progress every week. So far- I’ve gone to 2 classes and am by far the smallest guy there! Two classmates who standout in my mind are Max, a big German Shepard and a Pitbull, whose name escapes me at the moment. Both intimidate me now, but hopefully by the end, we’ll be buddybuddy.

Gus has been a great support- (unlike me, he’ll do anything for a treat)-

Keep your fingers crossed and I’ll see you back at Doggy Desk this fall.

Summer Fridays

Sharing the Bed

At the office during the summer we have what you call “Summer Fridays”. This means that we come in around 10 and we get to leave at 1 to start our weekend adventures. We do this from Memorial Day to Labor Day. After Labor Day since we don’t have Summer Fridays we start back up with 4 pm Champagne Fridays, but that’s for another post.

Today I decided to start my Summer Friday at 9 am after a night out at Mary’s Fish Camp and a bottle of Rose Wine with friends. I am starting to decorate my new apartment and I need to find the perfect bed. Not too small but not too big. Not too soft and not too hard. And of course it must go with Mom and Dad’s decor. This seems to always be the problem. They just do not make beautiful modern dog beds for what I like to refer to the larger more voluptious breeds like me.

I found one at Design Within Reach but it won’t fit my round rump. I am sending this out to all the larger dogs and need help finding this. If you know of any great puppy beds just for me - send them my way. I haven’t been sleeping well because my Dad seems to think the Queen size bed is his. Can you believe that one?!?

Oh and as you can see from the photo. The bed needs to be large enough so I can have sleepovers with Tater.

inner doggy peace

With all that’s going on this summer- I’ve just been a ball of nerves. Instead of festering, I signed up for a 6 day doggy bootcamp in tulum mexico and learned from Miele a golden lab dogi, just how peaceful yoga on the beach can be. It was just what I needed. I miss the balmy weather and sand between my paws.
