I had to find out what all the hype was about. Have you heard of “The Greatest American Dog”?
In case you haven’t, this is what it is straight from the website:
Twelve extraordinary teams of dogs and owners from across the nation from “pageant dogs” to those simply trained at home, will live together and compete against each other in challenges that put the owners’ ability to train their dogs to the test. Each week, the judges will eliminate one dog and their owner. The last remaining team will walk away with a $250,000 cash prize and the title of GREATEST AMERICAN DOG
The show had over 9 million viewers the first show. Everyone loves a dog show. And after watching it so does my mom… The verdict is still out for me.
Tonight the dogs had to compete to see who had the most courage. The Dogs were strapped to a zip line 30 feet in the air and they had to jump into thin air. NO THANK YOU!
But i do love Travis and Presley pictured below.

You decide for yourself at Greatest American Dog

HI! Tater here! I went to grandma’s house over the weekend to play with cousin Mickey and cousin Gus and grandma had a surprise field trip for us! She took us in her car (I love riding the car and sticking my head out the window- makes me feel like I am running a million miles an hour!) for a ride to the South Mountain Reserve. This place is AWESOME. It has a HUGE dog park one for little dogs like me and BIG dogs like Emma. They have drinking fountains, park benches, these things for me to run on, around, through and under, and DogiPot stations, just in case you have to “go” while you are playing. I made a couple new friends and then grandma and mom took us for a walk around the loop. She said that it was only fair, so that way all of us can get some exercise. I saw this big dog standing outside the park and it didn’t move and was shiny, I asked mom what it was and she told me it was a memorial honoring emergency service dogs that lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 tragedies (see photo above). I thought that that was really nice and noble. I really love it there and hope that I can go again and again and AGAIN! If you are in neighborhood, make sure to stop by. http://www.essex-countynj.org/p/index.php?section=dog

Since Natalie + Emma (well she wasn’t in…but it is still considered her space) left early, I decided to go and play where the sun was shining on my face, where Natalie would have been sitting if she were here with Emma’s toy, which she would be playing with if she were here! I love having office-mates, gives me more toys and space to play in!

Does anyone know anyone in Portland with a dog? Dinner with your Dog event, what an amazing concept! I know that I would WOOF to have dinner with my parents instead of waiting at home for them to return with a doggy bag for me. P.S. Happy Birthday Dad!

This weekend my friend, Chris, turned 40. To celebrate he invited his closest friends AND puppies out to the island to enjoy a weekend of drinking wine, swimming, cooking, and chasing a large pink soccer ball.

My dad bought me this soccer ball just for the occassion. I was so excited the entire 3 hours in the car. I couldn’t wait to get to the country and play soccer.
WELL….
When we arrived there was another little furry friend of mine, Hazel. She has to be the smallest Boston Terrier around. Sometimes people mistake her for a bunny because when she runs she hops like a bunny. (that’s another post and I will have to get a video)

This is Hazel. She is a cartoon character. This is the picture of her chasing after my ball…
My Dad and I started playing soccer. I was running around the yard, kicking the ball with my paws, jumping into the bushes to retrieve the ball. I was having a ball! Then, Miss Hazel decided she wanted to play. Hazel is so tiny and so FAST. I had no chance in keeping up with her. Hazel stole my ball. In fact my Dad gave Hazel my ball when we left on Sunday. I am not happy with him!
Since my ball was gone I accepted the fact that I would lounge by the pool. It was wonderful because Harry (a Cardigan Corgie) made the best martini’s. And he served them poolside.

Sunday came too soon and then Monday arrived. I’m asking Mom and Dad for a country house for Christmas, not another blue ring.

Until next time… Back to the Monday Work Day

Hi- it’s me Mickey. I will be taking a leave of absence through September 17th. Where will you be, you may ask…I’ll be attending a Feisty Fido’s training camp at St.Huberts in Madison, NJ. Why? Well, I am trying to better myself and get over my fear of big dogs. I’ll be reporting on my progress every week. So far- I’ve gone to 2 classes and am by far the smallest guy there! Two classmates who standout in my mind are Max, a big German Shepard and a Pitbull, whose name escapes me at the moment. Both intimidate me now, but hopefully by the end, we’ll be buddybuddy.
Gus has been a great support- (unlike me, he’ll do anything for a treat)-
Keep your fingers crossed and I’ll see you back at Doggy Desk this fall.

Aloha! Mom has been back from Hawaii for a couple weeks and she is definitely missing the fun in the sun. Especially since it’s been pretty unusually chilly in NYC these days. (I got caught in the rain yesterday and it was pretty yucky!) To remind mom of her time in Hawaii, I found these collars that totally bring a beach to NYC…well sort of…

What do you think? I am eying the orange and blue to match my orange puppia harness. This can be found at www.mymascot.com mom is LOVING the the sailor knot collar.

Which do you think that I should get?
Decisions…..

As mommy and I get ready to leave the BIG APPLE to move to Hoboken in a month, we came across Doggy Happy Hours, of course there are none in NYC or Hoboken…but if there was that would be a great way for both mommy and me to make new friends. Don’t you think that someone who has a bar should start - esp. since there are a ton of outdoor bars in Hoboken. I think that I would rather move to DC (http://activedogs.meetup.com/111/), IL (http://chicago.metromix.com/bars-and-clubs/deal/doggy-happy-hour-old-town/396968/content) or VA (http://www.doggiehappyhour.com/) where they have places to go for drinks after work. I think that I will have a meeting with mom and dad to discuss my new social life…

Hi all! Today at the Sprout Creative Group/ Markoff Group lunch round table, we were discussing how to get your dog around if you have to take your pup somewhere and you don’t have a car and God knows that a New York Taxi will def. not stop to pick you up if you have a big dog…as I was wondering how my trusty puppy pals would get around, I passed a Pet Taxi on the street. I never knew such a thing existed, I went on the website to check out what they offered:
What does Pet Taxi do?
Pet Taxi transports dogs, cats and most exotic animals. We transport to and from all airports, rent airline approved carriers and can even arrange to pick up or deliver your pet regardless of whether you’ll be there or not. We also will make traveling around New York easier, with transportation to and from kennels, groomers and Vet’s.
So the next time you are in a bind and don’t know how you and your best friend are gonna get around…have no fear…PET TAXI is there for all your pet transporting needs! |

I have some big news. We found Bubbles in Chicago! It is a real doggie miracle. After three days of roaming the streets of Chicago a wonderful woman saw one of the lost and found signs and called. He is getting picked up tonight. I am going to have to have a real dog-to-dog discussion on the rules of playing in the yard. Until then… Welcome Back Bubbles!

Now on to some work issues around the office. I received an email from Tater asking why am I allowed to work from home. The answer is: just because I am not in the office, does not mean I am lounging around the house popping Vosges Haut Chocolat bonbons. Don’t I wish! Being involved in public relations means that I have to be out networking and staying on top of current trends. Today, I had a conference call with a Los Angeles client, Truman. Truman and I discussed the Fall 2008 trends. More to come on the trends in my next post. Until then, check out Truman.
